ABOUT

“Reaching new heights in creative services with award-winning writing, graphic design, and event production”

Born in New York City at the dawn of the 1950s, multi-creative Walter Roland Moore was raised in the shadows of London Terrace in Chelsea and the Marble Hill projects in the Bronx.

On the afternoon of his mother’s death, he discovered Greenwich Village at age 14, and fell under the spell of Magicians, Fugitives, and Bloos Magoos. Armed with a Stratocaster and Brian Jones bangs, he played parties and dances before launching a short-lived acting career at 16 years old. Abandoned by his father a year later, his appearance in an experimental French New Wave film was followed by a starring role in the cult flick The Chaperone, hailed as a precursor to Friday the 13th.

Trained as a professional writer with a B.A. in English, his voluminous output includes copywriting, press materials, biographies, live event scripts, and much more, including speechwriting for automotive icon Lee Iacocca. In 1984, he co-founded RoIand Communications—a full-service public relations, marketing, and event production company that booked over 50 major acts ranging from Cheap Trick and Sheryl Crow to Sammy Hagar and ZZ Top. With hundreds of clients as diverse as Harley-Davidson® and the City of Los Angeles, Roland Communications was awarded the Public Relations Society of America’s prestigious Prism Award.

Current personal creative projects include a chronicle of guitar legend Link Wray’s final concert—which he produced in 2005—and a film adaptation of “Jimmy’s Wish,” the story of a homely mechanic and a beautiful socialite who die at the exact same moment and discover true love as they approach the afterlife.

In addition to production services offered through
Roland Communications, Walter Roland Moore’s creative services include writing, graphic design, and illustration.
